Why did you decide to start your own creations?

Gebrouwen door Vrouwen (Brewed by Women) originated as a hobby. Me and my sister started brewing beer in 2013, at home in a 35 liter pan. We mastered the brewing process through trial and error and when we had two great recipes a bar owner decided he needed to sell it on tap :)

What inspires you?

Other kinds of drinks, like soda’s with special flavours or gins with special herbs.

What is your process and what is important to you?

We like to brew beers with special herbs, it is important that the flavour is special but also accessible. Not too difficult, even people that think they don’t like beer love ours ;)

What little moment made you feel proud when looking back?

When we saw our beers at the shelf of Albert Heijn for the first time!

If you would share a little motivation with other female creators what would that be?

Always share your successes with your loved ones. Make a small party of the milestones you reach so you keep realizing all the amazing things you experience. And, just as important, share your lows as well. People around you will always have surprising insights and tips. And it helps to put things in perspective, when you share your problems they immediately seem smaller.
